RECENT EVENTS
THANK YOU. I would like to thank everyone who sent me flowers, birthday cake, cards and donations on my 90th birthday. Money raised was £190 for Trinity URC Methodist Church.
Yours truly, Freda Wells.
A big THANK YOU to all who made cakes for our Action for Children event last Sunday. What a wonderful array of goodies from our talented members. I felt a bit like a highwayman, "persuading" everyone to buy, but I think you would agree that your purchases were worthwhile. Not only that, but we raised £185.00 for Action for Children. I will be able to announce a final figure soon, but that is a marvellous start! I must say a special "thank you" to Stella, Pam and Janet, who worked so hard on the stall, I am truly indebted to them. Eileen - with love xxx
Rishton Methodist Church Gift Day. We have raised a total of £9,675.00. This is an amazing amount, for the work of the Church. We would like to thank everyone for their donations and help that was given to make this an enjoyable and successful event.
Kind Regards, Deborah and Sharon (Treasurers).
FORTHCOMING DATES FOR YOUR DIARIES
Next Sunday, 27th July, Trinity will be welcoming a group of 35 adults and children from a URC church in Woking. The group will be spending some time at Bowley Camp and have asked if they can join us for worship. I'm sure that we will give them a lovely Trinity welcome. Margaret

A Thought for Today
Mary’s Voice by the Revd Angela Rigby, URC.
Jesus cleaned house already, there’s nothing more to do.
Come take your place beside him, find rest (if you want to)
You could:
Come and have a laugh with him as he tells a joke or two.
Heard the one about the camel? Missing sheep? (Right now, that’s you.)
Just come and sit beside him (with me – I’m already here).
Come listen to his tales of all our awkwardness, my dear.
Stories of brothers and dads, of landowners and farmhands,
of fig trees awaiting fruit, of mustard seeds claiming land,
of the kin-dom of God – that inside you and me is found.
The kin-dom grows around us, breaking through the hardest ground.
Sister, he feels at home here with all the things that you do.
One thing’s still missing – the best – Martha, my sister, that’s you.
So, come and sit beside him, there is nothing more to do.
Jesus cleaned house already, come, let him care for you.
